How many browser profiles can I have?
Unlimited. Donut Browser does not cap profile count on any plan. Disk space is the only ceiling on creation; RAM and CPU are the ceiling on how many you can run at the same time.
Is this really a free multi-account browser, or is there a catch?
Genuinely free. Unlimited local profiles, device identity generation, and proxy support cost nothing. There is no per-profile fee, no profile cap, no signup, and no trial timer. Paid plans only unlock optional extras like browser automation, encrypted cloud sync, and team sharing.

Are profiles truly isolated from each other?

Does running many profiles at once slow my machine down?
Each profile is a separate browser process, so RAM and CPU scale with how many you open at once. On a modern laptop with 16 GB of RAM, 6 to 10 active profiles with multiple tabs each is comfortable. Closed profiles keep all their session data for next launch.
